Travel over the tropical rainforest canopy, with a bird’s eye view of the World Heritage Listed Wet Tropics rainforest and the Barron River. Stop at the Interpretive Centres for a boardwalk tour and views out over the Barron Gorge. The package is completed by a return journey on the Kuranda Scenic Railway, constructed over 120 years ago.
Enjoy free time in the Village in the Rainforest as the market town of Kuranda is referred to. Wander amongst market stalls showcasing the work from local craftspeople and artists. Visit the Kuranda Butterfly Sanctuary, Birdworld, Koala Land the Venom Zoo or dine at the many cafes and restaurants before making your way to the Train Station.
Travel up the Kuranda Range and glide above the canopy of World Heritage Listed Wet Tropics rainforest. Allow 1 1/2 hours to enable you to explore the two stations along the journey. Join guided tours at these stops and learn about the flora and fauna found in the rainforest.
Arrive in the market village of Kuranda and visit the many markets showcasing local art and food. Dine at one of the many cafes and restaurants before exploring the walks or art galleries. Get up close and personal with wildlife or the breath-taking Ulysses Butterfly.
Return to Cairns on the Kuranda Scenic Railway as it slowly winds its way through the Barron Gorge, the rainforest and passes stunning waterfalls and cliffs. A stop at the Barron Falls platform provides unsurpassed views of the waterfall. Your journey takes approximately 2 hours.
